Mustard Taps into Football Fever.
Two former Port Vale players
have turned their love for the beautiful game into
a booming business, with support from Mustard.uk.com.
Mike Cullerton and Russell
Pointon have teamed up with former Stoke City and
England player Garth Crooks to launch the Sockatyes
range of reusable sock supports.
Sockatyes replace the traditional
medical gauze and sticky tape with a high-technology
band that allows the blood to circulate and even
helps prevent injury.
Support
has already been given by the Football Association
and FIFA and contracts are already in the pipeline
to supply a number of Premiership clubs.
Sunderland and Irish International
star player Niall Quinn was one of the first people
to wear the product, at his recent testimonial match
held at The Stadium of Light.
All proceeds from the event
went to the Niall's chosen charities and his own
set of Sockatyes are now being auctioned on-line
as part of the fund-raising drive.
Sockatyes, based in Stoke-on-Trent,
already employs eight people. The company turned
to Mustard.uk.com for support with legal issues and
business strategy and planning.
Support was delivered through
PKF Staffordshire and dedicated Mustard.uk.com client
manager, Vic Wileman, of Business Enterprise Support
in Burton.
Due to the high-growth potential
of the company, Sockatyres was supported by the Mustard.uk.com
bespoke scheme.
Russell said: "Mustard.uk.com
has really helped us to drive the business forward.
"The initiative helped us
with business planning and the legal protection of
trade marks, as well as guiding us through the patent
process."
